WE INVITE YOU
TO MEET

We are proud to announce, that this beautiful boy, with an incredible temperament and sweet nature, whom we named Al Caponey, has joined our ever-growing, band of Gypsy Horses. You will find in his pedigree, many of the most famous horses ever known in the breed.
Caponey is not tall and he probably won't mature much over 13.3 hands. We like the smaller ones, since they are a perfect size for youngers, and oldsters alike. Remember, a 13 hand Gypsy Horse, is a lot more horse, than a 13 hand Arabian for example.
Caponey is exactly the type, Gypsy breeders in the UK are breeding for today. He possesses a lovely head, huge bone, and the short-coupled and extremely wide body, we should all look for in the breed. He also flaunts absolutely masses of feather. As this boy matures, we are liking him more and more.
Caponey is now being trained under saddle and hopefully one day, will become our parade horse.
The Gypsies say a horse with one white ear and one black, is lucky.
We think we are lucky to have Caponey.

PLEASE NOTE
If you are viewing this page on a wide screen monitor, all pictures might
appear wider and the horses etc. will be stretched, and unfortunately appear
a lot longer in body than they are. Setting your screen resolution
to 1280 x 720 pixels will probably correct the problem.

Shown here at just five months old and while still in England,
he already has tons of hair for a baby. He's almost identically marked on both sides.

Having a look around his new home in California.
He is just a year in this photo.
This colt has to be "the" quietest, most laid-back
little fellow, we have ever had the pleasure of owning.

CAPONEY AT 18 MONTHS.
Caponey - growing up beautifully.
And still only a yearling.

He has incredible bone and hair for his age.

And such a pretty head.

He has the wide body, we love to see in the breed.

Off again.

CAPONEY AT TWENTY SEVEN MONTHS.
I think I'm pretty.

Here's my other side.

Caponey, welcoming our new filly, Myst.

A NOTE REGARDING GYPSY HORSE PEDIGREES.
As with all pedigrees of the past, most of what was known about the background of a given horse, was by word of mouth from breeder to seller and more often, passed down through members of the same family for generations. Although we in our family, do a tremendous amount of research, as to the background of our own horses and those of others in the breed, unless DNA can be verified, our knowledge of the background of any horses imported into this country, always comes to us from current breeders and old-timers in the breed, with whom we have spoken personally.
While we try our very best, to give correct pedigrees, from time to time, as our research continues, we sometimes have to change things. As horses in the UK changed hands over the years, they were often given different names, which makes it even more difficult for the pedigree researcher. Mares were seldom named at all.
All pedigrees of horses on our site, are correct to the very best of our knowledge at the time of writing. However, since many in the breed have passed on and DNA is no longer available, we can only go by our current information.
As always, absolute pedigree confirmation, is a constant work in progress.
Our thanks to Albert Coates, Sydney Harker, Jerry Conners and Tom Conners and George Harrison, for much of the information, contained in this and other pedigrees of our horses.
And a special thanks to Dierdre Cash, who kindly interviewed Harry Conners and other members of the Conners family, to ask what they remembered of the Gypsy Horses of yesteryear.

Our thanks to the Coates, for this photo.

Caponey's Grandsire, The Buck Horse.
Now known as The Producer and owned by Tom Price.
Our thanks to Loretta, for this picture.

PLEASE NOTE
The Buck Horse, mentioned in the pedigree above, has been known by many names. He has been known as The Kent Horse (NOT to be confused with The Original Old Kent Horse) The Twenty Five Grand Horse, The Buck Horse and is now known by his new owner Tom Price, as The Producer.

The Lob, mentioned above, has also been known by other names. The Lob Eared Horse and sometimes even The Lob Deer.

Gypsy Horses are like potato chips -
you can't have just one!
