WE INVITE YOU
TO MEET

PLAYBOY

We are excited to announce, that the renowned "Playboy", has joined our herd of Gypsy Horses. He is a tri-coloured, (black, white and bay) Stallion. Foaled in 2005, he stands 13.2 hh. This breathtaking Stallion, is living up to his esteemed background! He is everything the Gypsy breeders themselves, are breeding for today. Small but mighty, powerful and charismatic, his sire is the great Clononeen Tumbleweed and his dam a daughter of the legendary Syd's Good Stallion, who needs no introduction to the Gypsy Horse fancy.

Playboy has a charming personality, a much desired, ultra short back, beautiful front and rear, tons of hair and silky feather and the sweetest tiny head you will find in the breed today. He has the most expressive eyes, which charm all who mee him. Add to this, his beautiful markings and you indeed see a Stallion of the quality his background dictates.

Playboy is the highest scoring colt in the history of the GCDHA. He has been inspected and certified by an experienced CHAPS judge from the UK., receiving two perfect 10's in Wisconsin.

This is a stallion who is a "once in a lifetime". The kind of horse, dreams are made of. We are so honoured to have him on our farm. His first foal crop will be born in 2008 and we expect nothing short of excellence from him.

Our thanks to Jen at Desert Jewel, for allowing us to own this fabulous boy, and to Deirdre Cash, for being willing to send him to the US.

Playboy is not at public stud at this time.

PLEASE NOTE
If you are viewing this page on a wide screen monitor, all pictures
might appear wider and the horses etc. will be stretched, and
unfortunately appear a lot longer in body than they are. Setting
your screen resolution to 1280 x 720 pixels will probably correct
the problem.

Such a cheeky face!

Meeting the crowd at the Open House.
This stallion has "the" shortest back, we've ever seen.

Is there a horse under all that hair?

I'm a happy boy. Home at last!

Proudly showing his championship ribbon.

A NOTE REGARDING GYPSY HORSE PEDIGREES.
As with all pedigrees of the past, most of what was known about the background of a given horse, was by word of mouth from breeder to seller and more often, passed down through members of the same family for generations. Although we in our family, do a tremendous amount of research, as to the background of our own horses and those of others in the breed, unless DNA can be verified, our knowledge of the background of any horses imported into this country, always comes to us from current breeders and old-timers in the breed, with whom we have spoken personally.
While we try our very best, to give correct pedigrees, from time to time, as our research continues, we sometimes have to change things. As horses in the UK changed hands over the years, they were often given different names, which makes it even more difficult for the pedigree researcher. Mares were seldom named at all.
All pedigrees of horses on our site, are correct to the very best of our knowledge at the time of writing. However, since many in the breed have passed on and DNA is no longer available, we can only go by our current information and available DNA.
As always, absolute pedigree confirmation, is a constant work in progress.
And a special thanks to Dierdre Cash, who kindly interviewed Harry Conners and other members of the Conners family, to ask what they remembered of the Gypsy Horses of yesteryear and for the pedigree of our Playboy.
